And while he was sitting on the judgmentseat, his wife sent to him, saying, Have nothing to do with that righteous man; for I have suffered much this day in a dream because of him.

When therefore Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down on the judgmentseat, in a place called the Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha.

And when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews rose up with one accord against Paul, and brought him before the judgmentseat,

And he drove them from the judgmentseat.

And having tarried among them not more than eight or ten days, he went down to Caesarea; and on the morrow, sitting on the judgmentseat, ordered Paul to be brought.

But Paul said, I stand at the judgmentseat of Caesar, where I ought to be tried. To the Jews I have done no wrong, as thou also very well knowest.

When therefore they had come together here, without any delay I sat on the judgmentseat on the day after, and ordered the man to be brought forward.

But thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? And thou, too, why dost thou despise thy brother? For we shall all stand before the judgmentseat of God.

Or do ye not know, that the holy will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge in causes of the least importance?

If then ye have any causes relating to this life, set them to judge who are of no repute in the church.

Hearken, my beloved brethren. Did not God choose the poor as to the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?
